Individual Work Requirements
For each of your assigned topics you will need to make sure to do the following:
Your design elements for each topic may include, but are not limited to the following choices:
- DO NOT PLAGIARIZE! You must cite every source you use.
- Use APA format to put bibliographic information for your sources on your page.
- Use information only from reliable sources. These may be a combination of both internet and print resources.
- Use our Social Studies textbook and at least two additional sources per topic for this project.
- Gather and record information onto notecards or notebook paper with your topic & source at the top. Your notes should be in single words and phrases. Write and then revise/edit rough drafts, and then type final drafts onto your webpage.
- Write one complete and thorough paragraph for each topic of the project (you may write up to 2 paragraphs per topic).
- Include one design element for each topic. (You must select a different design element for each of your topics -- no repeats).
Your design elements for each topic may include, but are not limited to the following choices:
- Digital Pictures or collage with captions -- use 5 or more pictures.
- Video Clips: 30 - 60 seconds -- this may be a news report, mini-documentary, dramatic reading of an excerpt from a Roman myth, legend, play, etc; a skit, or a commercial; an interview with a historical character (5-10 questions and answers that are historically accurate).
- Original Poems (at least two in a poetic form of your choice) that contain historical facts based on your research.
- Infographic (a chart that has important statistics along with relevant symbols). See the example below.
- Pictowords (A key vocabulary word that is drawn with symbols). See the example below.
- Original Song/chant with key facts/information about the topic.
- PowerPoint presentation/slideshow (5 – 10 slides).
- Wordle with an additional short descriptive paragraph about your Wordle. See the example below.
- FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page with 10-15 questions about your topic using historical facts based on your research.
- Timeline (if applicable) of 10 or more important events.
- 6-word memoirs -- 10 or more that highlight the key information for the topic.
- A How-To informative essay about the topic (if applicable).
- Coat of Arms -- 4 or more symbols relevant to the topic with a 1 paragraph explanation about how each symbol is related to the topic.
- "The Most Important Thing" short essay with two paragraphs maximum using historical facts based on your research.
